Cleaning melt down....

First, if you haven't entered the fabulous pearl necklace giveaway, please go here to enter!

Do you ever just want to clean out everything in your house? Start brand new…Make more space! Yesterday, I had a mini cleaning breakdown! We had family come in town late last night so I was trying to pick up and clean a few things….Well, I started noticing everything! Every scrape on the wall, every cluttered part of the closets, and then I went into full wipe down mode of walls, cabinets, etc. Kaz didn’t know what had gotten into me….Then the task got so overwhelming I finally said “I’m calling a maid service to get a deep cleaning!” YIKES! Cleaning and organizing have always been a big thing for me BUT yesterday I went into full panic mode! I got so frustrated with the amount of STUFF that we have that I wanted to throw everything in our closets that we don’t use away! I really don’t understand…You see, I cleaned out all of our closets just 3 months ago! They looked great and it felt so good to have less STUFF! What happened? Why is it that I have stuff in my closets that I have stayed in the same place for 3 years but I feel the need to hang on to it….

Whewwwww…….I haven’t decided fully what I’m going to do….Part of me wants to call a maid service so they can deep clean the house meaning walls, base boards, etc. The other part of me doesn’t want to spend the money but knows I DON’T have the time to do it myself….

On another note…going along with this whole thing….Kaz and I have been talking about re-doing our bathroom. We want to gut the whole master bathroom and do a tile shower, new vanity, mirror, tile floors, etc. Kaz is great at this kind of stuff and has done every project in our house….We’ve been talking about it and yesterday in my whole breakdown mode I said, "I’m ready to do this. Go pick out the stuff and start even if it means me being out of the master bathroom for a month!" So, starting next week Prikazsky master bathroom renovation will be underway!

Are you ever like this? What do you do to stay clutter free? What are some of your cleaning tips? I read my [blogger friend] Leslie's blog and she said[which I think is brilliant by the way] every afternoon upon arriving home set your phone alarm for 15 minutes. For 15 minutes straight just clean out…Don’t get distracted…Just clean out. Man, I wish I could do that:) I need to try!

i definitely have cleaning panics like this!! there is something so gratifying knowing that your house is clean and organized. right now i think my house is the least organized it has been in a really long time. i just have zero energy for it. but, maybe you will motivate me! : )

Sounds like we had the same day yesterday! I cleaned for 6 hours, and I still do not feel like the house is clean. I clean for 30 minutes each evening (this includes doing dishes and laundry) so that I can keep up. It makes a difference for us. But, things like windows, walls and baseboards take forever!

I've heard great things about Flylady.com. I need to check it out too.
I get in moods like that and start cleaning like a maniac. It doesn't happen as often as it should but when I'm on the rampage...WATCH OUT! Chris will say, "Oh, you're in THAT kind of cleaning mood." LOL!

I'm all about throwing stuff out. I don't want to end up like someone from the show Hoarders. That is so sad and scary because I could totally picture myself being there. It's hard to throw things away sometimes.

I am SO like this. I have so much STUFF! (Of course, I'm going to blame most of this on having 4 kids, but *some* of it is mine.)

=)

I do the same thing--I just start getting tired of the closets and what I want to do with the house and just start cleaning like a mad woman, haha!

And how awesome that you're going to redo your master bath?! Totally jealous!

thanks for stopping by my blog!

i know how you feel, i started a cleaning project about six weeks ago. i'm using a huge book as a guide, but basically make a list of all the areas you feel need a deep cleaning. then one task and day at a time check them off. i also have three designated cleaning days a week - one for the kitchen, one for dusting and vacuuming, and one for the bathrooms. It takes about 30min each day, but I know that each area is getting a good weekly cleaning.

flylady.com is also good. i did it for a summer and what I learned 5 years ago has stuck with me. All the emails and everything are a bit overwhelming, but you can do it for a month or so until it becomes routine and then just do it on your own.

I completely understand where you are coming from! I get like this as well. I just want to CLEAN and throw out massive amounts of stuff. But I also love my things. It's such a different place to be some day! I also have had the thought about a maid service coming in but I can't imagine how much that would cost!

Thanks so much for coming by my blog and comments and following! I'm always glad to met new people! I'm going to follow yours too!

That was fun! I enjoyed reading that, and hey in reference to number 4 SHIT happens!!~ LOL!!~ My husband just showed me a clip on you tube, it was a reporter doing an interview, she kept holding her tummy, then all of a sudden you hear this bug ripping fart...wait it's not over....the poor women pooped her pants and went running off the station....she had white pants on...OMG it was hilarious but so embarrassing! Thanks for coming over, glad you found me:)

Oh my goodness, this post SO reminds me of myself, lol. Isn't it amazing how you begin to see EVERY LITTLE DETAIL once you start a cleaning frenzy. I'm a total neat freak, but it's so hard to keep up sometimes!

Hi there! I am a new follower and a neighbor of sorts! I live in Charleston! I can totally understand where you are coming with on the cleaning and organizing. We just moved here last summer and I have been on a mission. It started with the garage which had a space to walk through to get to the backdoor and that was it. We have methodically gone through everything. I have given probably 15 tubs or stuff to Goodwill and no telling how many trips to the dump we have made. I feel like cleaning takes a back seat to organizing and sorting right now then I see dust and go try to clean around lots of junk! It never ends!! I have one more guest room to go and then I tackle the playroom. That may be my biggest challenge yet as it looks like Toys R' Us exploded!!! I will be posting pictures on my blog as soon as I finish my blogging about my trip. You will have to check it out!

P.S. I want to be a photographer when I grow up!!! :-)

Haha...I've been going through that so much lately...it's like a non-pregnant form of "nesting" It's weird. I felt like I couldn't breathe until I got rid of all the clutter. I'm working on it...but still not done. ;0)
