run, run, run....

I’m starting to run again TODAY! I actually have a written plan and I’m going to train “like” I’m going to be running a half marathon. I don’t have one scheduled but it really bothers me that back in Feb I was up to 8-9 miles and then just stopped because of wedding season. SO Today, I’m starting again!

I found a plan that fits my starting level and goes for 12 weeks from Hal Hidgon. If you’ve ever wanted to run or train for a race you should check out this website because there are so many great tools!

Basically this week for me looks like this:
Today: 2 miles
Wed: cross train
Thursday: 2 miles
Friday: rest
Sat: cross train
Sun: 3 miles

Now, this is not exactly what Hal Hidgon’s plan said, but I changed it to fit where I’m at right now!

It’s just been so hard for me to get motivated. My biggest challenge is stopping by the gym and if I make it home I won’t run outside because I will either want to relax or I have too much other stuff to do. BUT I’m going to make a conscience effort to fight that and run! PLUS, I really want to have lost those additional 10 pounds that I’ve been holding on too by Thanksgiving!

What are some ways you stay motivated to work out?

I have zero motivation! That is my problem. I clean house while my little one is at preschool, then I am hanging out with her. By the time she goes to bed, I just want to relax! I have decided that I am going to do a workout video with her here so she can see me exercise and she can do it with me! Good luck! I have to start training again for a 5K in February. I did it last year and got plantar fascitis which is no fun. It is getting better, but I pray I don't get it again!

I also wanted to let you know that the money for the dress is in the mail. I thought the hubby mailed it and he thought I mailed it. We found it in a stack of papers last night! It is in the mailbox right now! Sorry about that!

Good for you!!!! Keep it up :)

This mommy prefers walking a lot :) I just don't have that gift for running.

yay for you!

I"m actually running my first half marathon this weekend!!! I used Hal Higdon's plan as well, and it worked really well for me. I adapted it to fit my needs. I never thought I would be able to run a half! I unfortunately didn't lose a lot of weight, but did lose some fat. I would also like to lose that last ten pounds.

Signing up for races is actually a really surprising way for me to stay motivated. Because if I pay for it, I'm too cheap to lose out on the money for not doing it. Particularly the half - it was $90, and i had a $10 off coupon, but still. that's a lot of money to just waste! Also, for my "cross train" day, I did a zumba class. SOOO fun!!! Love it, and take it with some girlfriends. so it kept me motivated, because I couldn't wait for my zumba day! ;)

Good luck to you!!!
