I grew up a Carolina fan...then in college, kind of switched to Clemson after going to the games most weekends..I mean come on, you have to wear orange to a Clemson game AND besides, orange is my favorite color! Well, over the last year I’ve started pulling for Carolina again when they don’t play Clemson..I have clothes from both teams...My favorite t-shirt is Clemson, and my dad lets me know every time I wear it just how much he hates it! Annie Rice has a couple Gamecock outfits...I guess I would get disowned from the family if she’s ever in Clemson BUT SHE WILL be in orange! So there you have it...I like both teams...Don’t hate me:(

The reason I say all of this is because last Saturday night we had a HUGE RAIN storm. So much in fact, a lot of areas were flooded. Kaz was out in my car in this storm and by the time he made it back home he was completely soaked from head to toe. The remote to my car got wet and would no longer work. Kaz took it apart, let it dry, and even changed the battery the next day and it still would not work. So on Tuesday, I made an appointment to take it to the dealership and knew a new remote would cost about $200. I get to the dealership having tried the remote BEFORE I left home, and started talking to the repair guy about the problem. He said, “Honey, the reason it doesn’t work is because you have on Clemson[I was wearing all orange that day]...You just need some Carolina hands to touch the remote.” I kid you not, the minute he pressed those buttons the remote started working again! Just my luck! He said, “See I told you...You just needed a little garnet and black love!” I was mortified and so embarrassed because he was probably thinking I was completely nuts! 

BUT none the less, it works and I’m thankful!

I haven’t really watched a whole lot of TV lately, even before Annie Rice. For those of you who know me, you know it’s a BIG STEP for me not to watch E News! HaHa! BUT when we went to the beach with Liz and Todd awhile back, Liz got me hooked on Las Vegas! Hooked I am....I dvr 2 episodes a day and even ordered the dvds from Netflix! 

Annie Rice had her first pediatrician’s appointment yesterday! It went very well except when she got her shots! Of course I had to take a couple shots:)

Our traveling hasn’t slowed down very much...Kaz was in Michigan with his family over July 4th. We were both supposed to go but after getting Annie Rice only a week before, we decided it might be too much too soon considering all the big adjustments she had to make. So we got him home for a few days, and then he left for Colorado again. His flight home last night landed at 1038pm. I assured him that we would be at home waiting since Annie Rice goes to bed around 830 BUT I just couldn’t resist. I kept her up really late and we made the trip to pick him up! He was so surprised and Annie Rice was very happy to have her dad back! BUT today, we leave again! We are going to DC for a couple days because Kaz has a class for work up there and we are going to see his family! So Annie Rice gets to meet her granddad, aunt, uncle, and cousin for the first time this weekend! I’m so excited...AND it’s really neat because 5 years ago almost to the day, Kaz and I moved up to DC! It has always held a special place in my heart because that’s where we started our married life and I think it’s neat that it will be the same place we go for our first family trip! I’ll be back sometime next week!

Oh BOY! These are addictive BUT OH SO GOOD! I was originally attracted to them by the color wrapping..I’m helping plan a baby shower and they were blue so I thought they would be perfect! When I got home, I just HAD to try them! Kaz and I ended up buying 2 additional bags to replace the 2 bags we ate:)

Not only are they GOOD, BUT perfect for baby showers, or any party with the theme of BLUE)

David Tutera: My Fair Wedding...

I don’t normally enjoy watching wedding shows. I’m not sure why-I’m around weddings ALL THE TIME! I guess I think most of the shows are cheesy, BUT I’m in LOVE with David Tutera: My Fair wedding. David comes in just 3 weeks before a brides wedding and completely changes EVERYTHING! His work never ceases to amaze me! I love watching this show:) Maybe I will meet him someday.....:)

I have found SO MANY GREAT deals on 6pm.com. They have so many items at a discounted rate(some of them may be one season behind). I recently found a pair of running shoes that I paid $130 online, for $80 on 6pm.com. They were the exact same pair of shoes! Kaz has ordered several things from 6pm.com but I’m just now on the bandwagon! Great website-Great prices!

Coupons...

I’m starting on the coupon train[to a certain extent]. My favorite website is Southern Savers. Southern Savers helps you to figure out shopping list at all stores[Publix, Harris Teeter, Food Lion, CVS, etc] with the best possible savings! There are tons of online coupons that can be printed along with updated deals all week! More on this next week:)

I also have started looking for coupons before going out to eat, etc. Kaz and I are going to Chili’s tonight for dinner so I searched Chili’s coupons! I found a lot, but my favorite was $5 off 2 entrees! Works for me:)

Quaker Oats Instant Grits...

I guess the cold weather got me in a grits mood! I haven’t had grits in FOREVER and now it’s all I want for Breakfast, Lunch AND DINNER! I went a whole week eating ONLY GRITS for my meals! I’m slowly coming off of that kick and only eating them for breakfast but I LOVE them! So many flavors to choose between: butter, country bacon, cheddar cheese, etc.

miscellany monday...

1. Do you remember how I told you that I had planned a "very productive" Saturday? How I was going to decorate for fall?

WELL, my productive Saturday looked something like this:

I stayed in my pjs until around 415pm. I played on the computer, watched 2 movies and then finally decided AT 5PM to get dressd for dinner at Moes with our friends Kelly and Carissa.

Needless to say, the house still isn't clean and there aren't any fall decorations up! BUT I sure enjoyed my Saturday!!!

2. I bought myself a Christmas present on Saturday from my parents. I tend to do that a lot....BUT I love my NEW rain jacket! I've been wanting one for awhile because my current Marmouth rain jacket is just about worn out. So here's my new jacket[The color isn't great b/c of the lighting]...It's Hot pink and Grey!

3. I've REALLY REALLY REALLY been wanting to go back to California. Our anniversary is October 29th and every year we take our Big vacation at our anniversary. The last 2 years we've gone to California. Because of the adoption and the uncertainty of our days, we decided not to take a big trip. Really because we didn't want to spend the $ and then if we do get a baby loose it. So we've decided instead to go to the mountains BUT I AM TERRIBLY MISSING California. I WANT to go SO bad. I think about it almost every day.....

Last year, Kaz and I went to Hollywood and Laguna Beach. Oh Laguna Beach....I miss you

4. Speaking of California and fall....I've never been to a pumpkin patch before last year in Hollywood. It was the 1 thing I wanted to do. So we went to Mr. Bones. Partly because I really wanted to go and take a picture of all the pumpkins to display this year for fall decorations, AND because ALL the celebrities go there every October! I always see their pictures in the gossip magazines and I was hoping to see one:)

5. 90210 starts back tonight!!!! I'm SO excited!

6. I started hard core working out again yesterday and I'm hoping to loose 10 more pounds...Me and my friend Bythe ran sprints yesterday and let me tell you-It almost killed me! If you really want to see how out of shape you are RUN SPRINTS!

7. CAN YOU TELL that I LOVE FALL, CELEBRITIES, and CALIFORNIA? Have I talked about them enough in this post?

a HOLLYWOOD ending....:(

Do you watch the Hills? If so, PLEASE tell me what you thought of the ending….

I’ve watched this show since the girls started way back to Laguna Beach days. I’ve LOVED it! It’s been the one show that I’ve continued to watch….AND I was so sad to see it go that was UNTIL the ending….

You see, I’ve thought this whole time that it was real….sure there are fake moments I knew that, BUT now I’m questioning if the WHOLE thing was fake.

For you non-Hills fans let me set the stage….Everyone is moving into different stages of life. Kristen the main character is leaving for Europe and Brody Jenner [her friend, ex-boyfriend, etc] comes to tell her goodbye outside her Hollywood home. They hug, she cries and gets in the car to leave….It shows him still standing in the road with the Hollywood sign behind him seeing her off AND THEN totally pans out so you can see a backdrop, a Hollywood lot, and the camera crew….

I sat there speechless….AT FIRST, I was just plain confused, so I kept re-winding it…Then I got mad, and now I’m just plain sad. I feel like my view of the show over the last few years have just been crushed….

WHAT DID YOU think of the Hills finale episode?

Oh well....I think I will choose to believe it was all real...I like it better that way:)

Catching up….

I know it’s been awhile…with traveling and everything that has happened over the last month, I really haven’t had a lot of time to blog! So I’m going to catch you up on a few things[none of really any importantce] going on….
1. I recently wrote Tori Spelling a letter….Yes, I know crazy! BUT I did[more on this later!].

2. I can’t stop looking at all the CSN stores. I could seriously buy everything! They have such a wide range of products from baby items, bedroom vanity, lighting, dishes, etc. I have so many things on my wish list:)

3. I am going on a girls trip to NY in August! I’m SOOO excited!

4. I’m really sad the Hills will be ending tonight…..I have watched this show since it started 8 or so years ago as Laguna Beach…It makes me sad just thinking about it….

5. The nursery is almost done! I’m waiting on the bumper and a few small items….Kaz painted it and he just has to finish the base boards and then I’ll share some pictures:)

6. We loved spending time with our new nephew Matias. Can you believe Kaz has NEVER changed a diaper before! Matias was his first…..and then he peed on him! We were all laughing. Here are a few iphone photos from our time with him!

My obsession with reality tv….

I have SO many things that I WANT to blog about today….SO I’ll start with reality TV!!!

First…Last night on Keeping up with the Kardashians, they aired the part that was filmed at the Luxe Hotel [where we saw Khloe and Bruce!] Thankfully, they didn’t show me and Kaz in the background…I think I would have looked like an idiot in my star struck moment…BUT I was so surprised because not only was Khloe and Bruce at the hotel BUT the whole family was! They were ALL staying in the room right next door to us…Turns out they were having a press conference at the Hotel regarding a celebrity boxing match! I can’t believe we were that close to celebrities and didn’t even know it:) Makes me laugh….

Second, I watched The Pregnancy Pact last night on Lifetime. Now, I’m not a Lifetime girl BUT I’ve been seeing the preview for this movie for awhile and I really wanted to watch it! The story is crazy…It’s based on the actual events of a group of teenage girls making a pact to get pregnant at the same time. More than 150 pregnancy test were given out at this school in a year!!! In a year to high school students…1 girl who actually became pregnant confessed that the father was a 24 year old homeless man. Families were torn apart….It’s a crazy story. I remember hearing it on the news but seeing the movie last night made me want to read more about it…I would be interested to know what the girls think and feel today….To read about this story click here.

Third, tonight GREEK comes back on!!! YAY, FINALLY! I’ve been waiting in expectation to see what happens….This show always leaves me hanging…I know Kaz is ecstatic…[did you catch the sarcasm there]…

And last, I’m super excited about a new reality show about Kelly Cutrone! If you watch the Hills or the City, she was [and is] Whitney Port’s boss at People Revolution. I don’t like her personality at all…She’s very harsh at times but I’m interested to see more of her life. The show starts next week!

Ok, so enough with my love for reality TV [even though Greek and The pregnancy pack aren’t reality TV]…..

5 little things....

This post is going to tell you 5 things about me:)
1. I LOVE dishes…It’s very hard for me to pass up dishes. I could look at them for hours. Currently, we have 3 full sets of dishes, 2 different sets of salad/dessert plates, 8 different sets of glasses, etc….and I still want more! Almost in every store I look through the kitchen section, and in kitchen stores Kaz practically has to pull me out! Here’s the problem…I’m also very picky about dishes…I don’t like using them! Haha! Seriously, I don’t. If someone comes over for dinner we will use the “good” dishes. Kaz always makes it a point to say “This is only the 3rd time we’ve used these.”(He has a lot to learn!) BUT seriously he’s right. I have a whole cabinet full of dishes, bake ware, etc that still has the tag on it from our wedding. I love the stuff and even registered for it, but I don’t want to use it because it’s the “good stuff” and I like the way it looks new. AND one more thing, I hand wash all of my dishes. I don’t put them in the dishwasher…I can’t stand the thought of putting my nice dishes and glasses in the dishwasher so I wash them all, and put the older stuff in the dishwasher. Sounds crazy right? That’s 1 thing you probably never knew about me:) Below is a set of dishes I look at all the time and dream about having ONE day. Fiesta Dishes!

2. My favorite time of the day is when I get to take these little guys….Multi Gummie Vitamins:)

3. I LOVE reality TV! I watch more shows than I can keep up with…well I DVR them and watch them when I have time BUT I LOVE LOVE LOVE reality TV. Some of the shows I watch are:
-The Hills
-The City
-The Girls Next Door (I don’t know why….)
-The Rachel Zoe Project
-The Real Housewives of Atlanta
-Biggest Loser
-Keeping up with the Kardashians
-Giuliani and Bill
-Kendra
AND I watch E News everyday to see the latest celebrity news….Not just reality TV but that’s the majority of what I watch. Other shows I watch are (Hannah Montana-Sad I know, Greek, 90210, The Office, etc)

4. I am terrified of spiders, and any other bug you can think of…I even HATE killing them because I’m scared they will attack me! One time I was getting in my car to go to work and I saw a REALLY BIG spider on the passenger seat. So I panicked, went next door to get my 65 year old neighbor who had just had back surgery to come kill it…He couldn’t find it, so I called Kaz(who was at work) crying because I couldn’t get in my car until that spider was dead. He came home, found and killed THE BIGGEST HAIRIEST SPIDER (Seriously) and THEN I still wouldn’t drive my car for 2 weeks!
NEEDLESS TO SAY, I HATE bugs especially spiders!

5. My middle name is Margaret! I’ve never really cared for my middle name because it’s an older name BUT it was both of my grandmother’s names who were amazing women so I don’t mind it:) and may pass part of it along one day!
